Intelligent Power Distribution Unit (iPDU™)

Intelligent Power Distribution Unit (iPDU™)

Increased server power consumption has made the management of rack critical power supplies and their energy consumption an essential objective of the data centre manager.

The Mardix intelligent Power Distribution Unit (iPDU™) incorporates advanced technology configured to provide final circuit current, power and energy monitoring down to individual server rack level. Alarms, status diagnostics, and essential measurements are also integrated to ensure effective critical power management.

The iPDU™ facilitates continuous control of critical power systems, and with 'at a glance' PDU diagnostics you can establish the nature and cause of problems before they arise. Since its launch the Mardix iPDU™ has set the industry standard and, due to its ease of integration, is now monitoring over 100,000 circuits in UK data centres.

Intelligent PDUs in focus

  • Simple, space and cost saving method for loss of final circuit supplies and circuit overload indication
  • Continuous record of events through alarm logs
  • Considerable reduction in external cabling costs with a single Cat5e/6 connection
  • Simplified interface to 3rd party systems via 'Critical' and 'Non-critical' volt-free alarms with onboard logs
  • Manage effectively with final circuit energy (kWh), real power (kW), current (A), apparent power (kVA) and power factor monitoring using the established Branch Power Meter (BPM)
  • Easy to interrogate 7.4" colour touchscreen displays all values and alarms on graphical status mimics
  • Improved security with external door status and activity log
  • Confidence assured with 100% pre-installation testing of all values, status and alarms
  • Approved by the Carbon Trust for Enhanced Capital Allowance

Continuing to innovate

Mardix have continued research and development based upon market feedback and our experience of over 600 iPDUs™ currently in service, and have added many key features including user configurable circuit descriptions and automatically enabled final circuit alarms upon detection of load current.
