Mardix
today announced their status as a General Member of The Green Grid
(TGG), and set out their aim to become a central player in the move
towards energy efficiency for the IT industry.
The Green Grid is a global consortium of IT companies and
professionals seeking to improve energy efficiency in data centres and
business computing eco systems. Working to unite global industry efforts
to standardise on a common set of metrics, processes, methods and new
technologies, the consortium was responsible for developing the PUE and
DCiE metrics.
Joining leading IT companies such as Intel, Microsoft, IBM, DELL and
global IT users like Google, Ebay, and BT, Mardix will contribute a
depth of industry knowledge and experience to the consortium.
Commenting on the membership, Mardix Power Management Director, Andy
Banks said: “It’s a natural move for us as a company, we share the same
ideals as TGG and view this as an opportunity to lead and influence the
IT industry as it faces the challenge of optimising energy efficiency on
a global scale. Much of our work is centred on measurement methods,
processes and new technologies to improve performance, and we can add a
great deal to the consortium in terms of vital working knowledge and
extensive power management experience.”
